I love the idea of turning old clothes into something new.
I stumbled across this awesome tutorial for a T-shirt shrug.
Here's my version of it :)

Cut off the neckband and down the center of the shirt.
Be sure to only cut through the front layer when cutting down the center.
Turn shirt inside out. Fold edges over one inch and pin in place to form a casing. Then sew.
Turn shirt right side out. Attach a safety pin to the end of your ribbon and pull through the casing.
Pull ribbon tight and tie closed.
Now try on your new T shirt shrug and enjoy your work!

I'm so going to try this. I think I'll sew the casing so the raw edge is on the outside of the shrug, to create a ruffly, deconstructed feel. Thanks for the idea!
ReplyDeleteI love this. What a great easy project, I made one the day I saw your post:)
