6 Months!

Can't believe my little man is half a year old!
Six months!
Crazy!

I never thought I'd like having a boy.
And then I had Wesley.

He stole my heart.
Now I think every mom needs a son
(and a daughter :) )

My little man is growing up way too fast!
I keep telling him to stay a baby forever
but he just won't listen!

Now that he's 6 months he:
Sits up on his own,

eats baby food,

rolls over
and drools
alot

He loves to jump
and laugh
and cuddle.

And he hates
rice cereal and
naps.

oh and he adores his big sister

and she thinks he's pretty cool too.

Jesus lovs me...

this I know.
For the Bible tells me so...

Every Friday I go to a mom's group at church.
Every Friday there is a raffle.
I have been going for about a year.
Everyone I know has won.
Except me.

So this morning while I was getting ready
I asked the Lord if he would let me win
so I would know how much he loves me.

And guess what?!
I WON!

The gift was something I could care less about (a notepad and a pencil)
but it was special to me.
Because it was from the Lord.
Like a big hug from my Savior.

God is good.
So. so. good!

Felt Valentines

There is no such thing as too much mail
(felt mail that is)
or too many Valentines.

Here's a special set of Valentine inspired mail I whipped up for my little mail lady.

lovey. dovey. felty. fun.

This is the day...

that the Lord has made.
I will rejoice and be glad in it!

We've been smelling the roses,
wishing on dandelions,
and enjoying the beauty of God's creation around us.

I forgot how much I enjoy just getting out of the house and going on a walk with my kids.
There is something about being in the midst of nature that makes me happy and refreshed.

Today was the perfect walking weather.
Sunny and crisp.
Not too hot. Not too cold.
Just perfect.

We did our normal walk twice because we weren't ready for it to end.
The flowers were extra pretty,
the plants and grass extra green (from all the rain),
there were tons of dandelions (Mackenzie's favorite)
and everything was so so beautiful.

Coffee Filter Butterflies

Lots of butterflies are fluttering around the Sellars home.
Coffee Filter Butterflies that is.

Here's a super easy and fun craft to make with the kiddos.

Colorful butterflies!

All you need (per butterfly) are:
-2 coffee filters
-1 pipe cleaner
-markers

Step 1:
Color both coffee filters with markers.

Step 2:
Slowly sprinkle some water onto your colored coffee filter until the marker begins to bleed.

The more water you add the more it will bleed.

Allow to dry.

*Be careful not to add too much water. The color seems to continue to bleed while it is drying.

Step 3:
Once your coffee filters are dry, take each filter and pinch them in the center to form the wings.

Step 4:
Place your two pinched coffee filters together as shown above.

Step 5:
Fold your pipe cleaner in half and insert the two wings inside the opening of your folded pipe cleaner. Twist the pipe cleaner together to secure. Shape the tips of your pipe cleaner to look like antennas.

* This step is kind of hard to explain but super easy to do. Hopefully the picture helps to clarify things :)

Ta Da!
One Tie Dye looking butterfly!

These would be super cute hung from fishing line to decorate a room :)

Rainy Day Fun...Sock Puppets!

When the weather's ugly
and your trapped indoors
make sock puppets!

Just raid your sock drawer,
pull out all your art and craft supplies,
and go wild!

Color. paint. stamp.

glue. decorate. embellish.
Your imagination is the limit!

Mackenzie turned Daddy's old socks into a butterfly, caterpillar and a bird.

*More rainy day projects to come :)

Rainy day

Mackenzie loves her umbrella
any umbrella for that matter.
But she never gets to use it
because it never rains here.
Until this week.

Today Mackenzie thought it would be fun to take a stroll in the rain.

Wesley and I thought sitting inside our warm house was a better idea
but we bundled up and braved the weather for Mackenzie.

We made it about 4 houses down before the rain really started coming down.
So we decided to turn around and go back.

Soon after we got home it started to hail.
So cool.
Then as we were eating lunch a tornado warning flashed on TV.
Not cool.
We live in Southern California.
We don't have tornadoes.
Anyways, after I freaked out for a couple minutes
and strategized the best location to take shelter in case of an actual tornado
the warning was over.
No tornado.
Just rain.
Lots and lots of rain.
Apparently we are in the middle of a huge storm that is supposed to last all week.

I guess that means Mackenzie will get to use her umbrella some more :)

Tired

It's January
half way through January
and I still feel like I am recovering from the Christmas rush.

I feel tired.
Overwhelmed with this little business I have created.
Don't get me wrong
I LOVE what I do
and I couldn't imagine NOT doing it
but lately it has become my life.
Every free second is spent
sewing. cutting. gluing. ironing.

There is just so much to do.
Inventory to build up
Ideas waiting to come to life
Orders to be filled

And instead of being productive
I want to do nothing.
Nothing business related at least.

I want to play with my kids
enjoy my family
and regain my sanity.
Oh and maybe do some fun projects that I have been wanting to do for a long time
because, let's be honest
I'm addicted to sewing.

Thanks for listening and letting me vent :)

I should be back soon with lots of new and exciting things from a NEW line of specialty bibs I'm working on.
