What I Wore

I don't know how the weather is in your neck of the woods
but it's been raining
non stop
for the past week.
Did I mention I live in Southern California?
It pretty much never rains here.
At least for more than a day.
With that said,
I've been on house arrest all week.
Leaving the house in the pouring rain with two little ones just didn't sound too appealing.
So with the exception of a Christmas party we had over the weekend
I pretty much have gone the cozy route with my clothes.

sweatshirt: Old Navy (garage sale)
jeans: H&M maternity
boots: Fake Uggs (Costco version)

long sleeve black shirt: Target
wrap: Old Navy maternity (hand me down)
skinny jeans: Levis
flats: Payless

Note to self: When you are pregnant and going to a fancy dinner party pick out and try on your outfit more than 10 minutes before you need to leave. I think I tried on 7 things before settling on this. I'm at that weird "nothing fits right" stage.

gold tank top: so old I can't remember where I got it
cardigan: Macy's
leggings: Forever 21
necklace: H&M
ankle boots: Macy's (Naturalizers)

headband: made by me
(my husband took this pic)

white embellished shirt: made by me
purple sweater: Nordstroms
skinny jeans: Levis
boots: Emu's

shirt: H&M
skinny jeans: Levis
boots: Fake Uggs

v neck t shirt: Target
cardigan: vintage
jeans: Express
shoes: Christmas socks :)

Hope you guys are having a great week!

Children's Book Advent Calendar

There are so many creative ideas floating around the blogging world.
This is one I have a come across a few times and love.

It's a children's book advent calendar of sorts.
Basically you get 25 books about Christmas,
(you can buy them, borrow them, use what you have or rent from some from the library)
wrap them up and let your kids open one each night to read before bed.
What a fun idea!
Definitely on my list of to-d0's for next year.

Check out more details about it here.

What I Wore

Sorry my What I Wore Wednesday post is a little tardy.
I spent the e.n.t.i.r.e. day yesterday baking

these yummy's for our neighbors.

And then my hubby came home a little early so we could meet some friends at Disneyland
for our last day at the Magical Kingdom until our passes expire.
We decided to take a year off from Disneyland and get season passes somewhere else this coming year.
I think it might help keep Disneyland special plus it sure helps on the wallet.

But Christmas time at Disneyland is my absolute favorite.
Isn't it beautiful!

Anyways, this week I did try to put a tad more effort into my clothes.
Plus it helped that another friend totally hooked me up with some cute prego clothes
because I have totally popped!
There is no doubt there is a growing baby in there.

Hide the Vaseline

I was wondering when I would have to do it.
After the great pen catastrophe of 2009 Mackenzie got her very own "Little Miss Trouble" label.
It is filled with all of the mischief she has gotten into over the years.
Today marks the beginning of Wesley's "Little Mr. Trouble" label.

The other day the kids were playing in their room.
Aaron was cleaning up the family room.
I was making breakfast.
All of a sudden Mackenzie comes running from their room to announce that
"Brother has sticky stuff all over his hands."
Those words are never good.
Aaron and I went into the room to find our boy lathering himself with Vaseline.
Our little monkey had climbed onto Mackenzie's bed,
from the bed to the changing table
and from the changing table to the dresser to get to it.
Sneaky little guy.
Luckily this Vaseline incident had a much happier ending then the last.
The sticky, greasy goo was pretty much contained to his face and hands.
Here are some pictures of the events.

What are some things your kiddos have gotten into?

A GIVEAWAY to change lives!

Today I'm giving away stuff.
Lots and lots of stuff
(4 bundles full of stuff to be exact).
Because I like water
and I'm guessing you do too.

Here's a quick sneak peek at the bundles...

baby boy bundle

baby girl bundle

imagination bundle

just for mommy bundle

This morning...
I woke up.
Went potty (happens a lot these days thanks to our precious baby who's sitting on my bladder).
Flushed the toilet.
Drank some water to take my prenatal vitamin.
Took a shower.
Brushed my teeth.
Made a pot of coffee.
Washed dishes.
You get the point...
we use water.
A lot.
And if you are like me you don't even think about it.
You just expect it to be there.
And when it's not
you might even get upset.
I'm always asking my husband to please remember to refill the Brita filter we keep in the fridge.

I can't even imagine what it would be like to go without water for a day.
I would be thirsty and dirty and grumpy I'm sure.
Yet billions of people go without clean drinking water every day.
In fact many people have never had clean drinking water
e.v.e.r.
And even worse people are suffering because of it.
Every day thousands of people are dying from unsafe drinking water.

So what are going to do about it?
Give.
Give some of what God has so graciously blessed us with
so we can give the gift of water to those in need.

And as a little incentive
I have some awesome gift bundles to give away!
Every $10 donation you give here to charity water
will get you one entry into the awesome giveaway.
Please leave one comment per $10 donation you make.
Also be sure to add which prize bundle you are entering to win
(baby boy, baby girl, imagination or just for mommy).

make sense?
