Bird House

Auntie Syd gave Mackenzie a super fun Christmas gift

an unfinshed wooden birdhouse
plus crayons and markers
to decorate it with

Mackenzie had fun coloring it
and telling Mommy what to draw on it

Once we were finished with our masterpiece
we filled it with bird seed,

picked the perfect spot in our tree
and hung it up for the birdies to enjoy!

Just like Daddy

A baby who drools like no one's business
+
A bag of Daddy's old shirts
=
Super cool baby bibs

Now Wesley can be just like Daddy

I used Aaron's t-shirts

button down shirts

and even a pair of Aaron's shorts and my old velour pants for the backing on a few.

Totally cute and totally free!

This year is going to be different

Is anyone else still in awe that it's 2010 already?

I often feel like the days
and weeks
and months fly by
way. too. fast.

so fast that I barely get to enjoy them
or do the things
I want to/plan to/hope to do.

This year is going to be different.

Every day I want to be intentional
about the things I do
say. watch. read.

I want to spend my time wisely.

I want to invest in people not things.

I want to capture and record daily memories.

I want to be the woman God has called me to be.
In every role of my life
every day of my life

This year is going to be different
and I'm excited.

Cookin' and eatin'

Cute aprons making cooking so much better.
Don't ya think?

I made this apron for my mother in law
for Christmas.

I liked it so much I wanted to keep it for myself :)

there's just something about green and orange that makes me happy

and makes me want to cook...
or eat.
Or both.
(Can you tell I'm hungry as I'm writing this?)

Anyways, I ended up giving it to my mother in law as intended
and was happy to hear that she liked it as much as me :)

Hopefully she has lots of fun cooking and eating in it.

Speaking of cooking...
One of my New Year's Resolutions is to try a new recipe every week.
I feel like we are always eating the same ol' thing around here
so this year we'll be trying new things.

And to kick start my cooking spree my Mother In Law gave me this new cookbook.
The regular Southern Living Cookbook is my favorite cookbook of all time so I have high hopes for this one.
I flipped through it the day and wanted to make (A.K.A. eat) just about everything I saw.

It's going to be a yummy year :)

Baby Shower Invitations 2

Remember all those baby showers I was telling you about?
Well I finally got around to posting the second set of invitations I made.
This time I used a fun hot pink and white fabric to make diaper invitations.

To make them I...
cut a diaper shape out of fabric,

hot glued the tabs to keep it together,

printed the party info onto some card stock,
added a little ribbon to the top
then slipped them into the fabric diaper.

Easy and cute!
