Boy stuff (NEW towels)

There is definitely a lack of cute boy stuff out there.
If you go to a boutique or craft fair you know what I mean.
There are usually 100 vendors selling cute bows, skirts, aprons, dresses, headbands, jewelry, etc. etc.
If are lucky you can find a handful of vendors that are selling fun, cute things for boys.
Well I'm on a mission to change that.
One towel at a time.
Haha. Not really, but I do have some cute new boy fabrics available in the shop
They were all personally picked out by my boy (and I got a ton of requests for them at Queen Bee Market) so hopefully you and your little guys like them too.

Also...don't forget to enter our giveaway if you haven't already.
Maybe you will win one of your own!
It ends Friday so don't dilly dally.

NEW Star Wars print on a dark grey towel

NEW Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle print on a lime green towel

NEW Superhero print on a black towel
*This print was previous sold on a grey towel but I'm switching things around and will now only be sold on black. I do have a few left on dark grey in the shop though if you prefer it on that.

Lu Bird Baby Hooded towel Giveaway!

Summer is right around the corner
(can I get an Amen!)
and to kick it off we are giving away one of our hooded towels!
They are the perfect pool, bath or beach accessory and since they are made with a full size towel they are great for babies all the way up to big kids.

Plus they double as a great superhero cape.
In fact you may have a hard time getting them off your nakey kids after they get out of the bath and convincing them to get clothes on.

They also make super cute baby shower gifts.

And the best part is your kids will use them.
Everyday.
In fact you should start cleaning out your towel cupboard now.

Queen Bee Market

Today's the day!
Queen Bee Market is finally here!

If you are in the San Diego or Orange County area you must find a way to come.
Seriously you don't want to miss it.
It's one of my favorite boutiques of the year.
I always tell people it's like Etsy in a store.
There are so many great vendors and so so so much great stuff!

The week before a boutique is always craziness.
I pretty much just sewed and pinned and sewed every free second I had.

I even recruited some cute help :)

and did a lot of multitasking

I love my new(ish) Lu Bird Baby stamp

We have some new prints we will be selling for the first time too (yay!).
I think my favorite is this fox print on our new light grey towel.

Be sure to stop by and say hi if you come!
I'd love to meet you!

See you in a bit!

Spring Queen Bee Market and giveaway!

Queen Bee Market's Spring boutique is right around the corner (yay!).

Are you coming?
Because you should!
It's one of my favorite boutiques to participate in and shop at.
I always describe it as Etsy in building.
There are so many awesome vendors and so much unique stuff there.

As a little preview for the boutique, Mique from 30 Handmade Days, is putting on a giant giveaway.
Head on over to her blog for the details on how to win 2 Lu Bird Baby towels (of your choice) PLUS $700 of other awesome prizes.

And don't forget to mark your calendars for May 2nd and 3rd.

Happy Thanksgiving and a Cyber Monday special!

Hi Guys!
First I want to say Happy Thanksgiving!
Hope you guys had a great weekend giving thanks.
Jesus has blessed me with so much more than I deserve.
He is so gracious and abundant to me.

And I have some exciting news!
Guess who is a part of this?!!

Yep!
ME! So crazy.
If you have been waiting to get some towels make sure you grab some at this great price on Groopdealz
They are live until Wednesday night.

This girl is the Super Star Student at school this week.
Here she is with her biggest fan.

Tonight we set up for the last Sugar Plum of the year.
It's at the Buena Park downtown mall this Thursday-Sunday.
Clic HERE for more details.

And in the midst of the Groopdealz sale and my boutique this weekend my sewing machine decided to break! I know...I was freaking out. Luckily some friends came to the rescue and I'm borrowing one to get me through the weekend. But I'm pretty sure I'm going to need a new one. Any suggestions on one that is a good work horse?

cray cray

Phew!
Remind never to do two boutques at the same time again.
That was crazy....but so fun too.

Thursday, Friday and Saturday I had my final Sugar Plum boutique of the year and then Saturday I had another boutque in Mission Viejo.
Coffee...was my BFF this weekend.

Friday night I stayed up into the wee hours of the morning sewing more towels and painting this sign for the second booth my hubby made for the Mission Viejo boutique.

What a hard working guy I have.
I definitely wouldn't be able to do anything without him and his support.
Thanks babe!

And thanks to all of you who supported me making the craziness worth it. I sold out of almost all of my towels!
empty booth=happy vendor

As much as I love selling at boutiques
I love shopping at them too.
It's so fun being able to support fellow crafters and get some one of a kind pieces.

And I'm thankful for my little people too who by the grace of God think helping at boutiques is fun.
Mackenzie is counting down the years till she can stay the whole time and help me (bless her soul).

This weekend was full of good surprises.
Our chickens also started laying eggs!!
It's like Christmas morning every day.

Hope you guys had a great weekend too.
Can you guys believe it's almost December?!

Queen Bee recap

Hey Guys!
What a whirlwind these past couple weeks have been!
And now it's November...already!
c.r.a.z.y.

First I want to say thank you to everyone that came out to support me at The Queen Bee Market.
It was so fun getting to meet new friends and lots of amazing vendors.
My hubby (who was/is a total rockstar) snapped this pic of me at our booth.
Although I'm still getting the hang of the business side of things I love being able to sell things that I make.
I get so much joy being able to use my creativity to bless others.
And even in the midst of the craziness I feel like there is nothing else I would rather do (for now at least). It's so nice to be able to escape to my sewing room and create.

There were so many amazing vendors at the Queen Bee Market.
I seriously could have bought something from everyone there.
Here's a peek at some of the things that I did come home with.

Nina from Blackbird Photography took these fun pics of my booth from the Market.

And since the Queen Bee Market was in Oceanside (about an hour from our house) we stayed at my parents time share in Escondido and turned the weekend into a little vacation.
The kiddos were so cute.
They chose to all sleep together on the pull out couch instead of their own beds.
One day I'll remind them how much they loved each other.

How was your weekend?

Like Etsy...in a building

Hey Guys!
I'm so excited to be a part of this years Queen Bee Market!
It's basically like Etsy
but in real life.
And you don't even have to pay for shipping.

We will be there selling our towels so if you stop by (which you should) be sure to come say hi!!

*Queen Bee Market is THIS weekend! How is it almost November already?!

Sewing, christmas music and a boutique THIS Thursday

Lately this has been my view most nights...
me, some music (I may or may not have already been listening to Christmas music...don't judge) and the roar of my sewing machine.

I've got a few more weeks of hard work as I get ready for my last 3 boutiques.

I counted this morning and I have already made almost 200 towels.
Crazy!
The guitars and pirates are two of my newest prints.
It's so much harder to find cute boys stuff but I think I have finally found some that I love.

If you are local come by and visit me at Coast Hills Community Church's annual MOPS boutique THIS Thursday (info above).
I'm not at all of my boutiques (the Sugar Plum ones in particular because they have a centralized check out) but I will be at this one selling my stuff the whole time. So if you come make sure to stop by and say hi. I'd love to meet you!
There should be lots of cute things to shop from.

Boutique #1 down

 Hey guys!
Sorry I have been M.I.A. lately.
I had my first boutique was last weekend and it was
c.r.a.z.y.
So much fun and so so crazy!

Aaron built me a new display this year.
Isn't it amazing?!
It turned out exactly how I hoped it would.
And now my husband can no longer claim he isn't crafty.
Now that I know what he's capable of my honey-do list keeps growing :)

I love this shot of all my towels.
They look like a pretty rainbow hanging up next to one another.
And that cute little "Lu Bird" sign was made by my friend Courtney.
She has an Etsy shop called Joyful Joyful where she sells adorable banners and signs.
Be sure to check it out!

The first day of the 3 day boutique I sold more than half the towels I had made! I was so excited but that meant I had to scramble to make some more which meant sewing while the kids were awake (something I never do). Wesley was my sewing helper and Mackenzie took out all of my pins for me.

I also got to bring the 3 littles with me to help restock and do a little shopping of myself.
If you get a chance to stop by the next Sugar Plum Festival on November 14-16 at the OC Fairgrounds you must!
It is their biggest one of the year and there are so many cool vendors.
These were some of my favorite finds.
A new key chain and this vintage Little People barn.

And just for fun I had to show you this picture.
Aaron and I lifted the 3 (giant, HEAVY) pieces of my display on top of our van and then drove them to the boutique and then had to take them off to set up. I think I about had a panic attack the entire time we were driving. And I realized I need to start working out for next boutique season. Those things are crazy heavy!
