a trip to the fair

carnival games. rides. yummy food. tons of people. music.
Summer is definitely incomplete without a trip to the fair!

Wesley was super excited to be able to sneak onto a few rides this year even though he was an inch too short.

Mackenzie has been counting down the days to the fair so she could go on the Ferris wheel for the first time ever. She loved it just as much as she thought she would.

Of course we had to go on the imitation Dumbo ride since we no longer have Disneyland passes.
It was definitely not as good as the real thing.

the swings!
This was always one of my favorite rides as a kid.

All the animals we saw at the fair made me wish I lived somewhere I could have a farm.

Little Miss Madelyn slept through 90% of the fair.

And when she wasn't sleeping in the stroller she was hanging out with me in the Ergo.

The rides are fun and the animals are cool but let's be honest...the biggest reason I love the fair is for the fair food.
Chocolate covered bacon anyone?

There is a cinnamon roll somewhere under all of that cream cheese frosting.
Yum!

Oh and don't forget some chili cheese and jalapeno french fries.
It's a good thing we only go to the fair once a year!

What's your favorite part of the fair?

What I Wore and a Hodge Podge of other stuff

Life has been anything but dull around here.
We have been enjoying the summer and all the fun things that go with it, packing and painting and getting ready to move and enjoying good company with friends and family. Oh and did I mention my hubby just started a new job! Life is definitely a bit crazy (but fun!) right now.

Since today is Wednesday and Wednesdays are when I post my outfits from the previous week...I have to confess I don't have much for you.
I was really bad about taking pictures this week.
Partially because I forgot and partially because I have been in either a bathing suit or in painting clothes most of the time and let's face it...no one needs to see pictures of those!

Anyways, here is what I have with a bit of random stuff mixed in.

this little girl has been all smiles lately.
She is such a happy baby!

and this little girl is absolutely in love with her baby sister.
Here she is holding Madelyn as she sleeps.
So precious!

I tried to channel my inner Adele Enersen for a little photo shoot. Let's just say it didn't go exactly as I would have hoped.

Cars Birthday Party Invitations

I can't believe my little man is going to be 2!

This year Wesley's birthday party is going to be super simple.
Partially because he's only 2 and won't know the difference but mostly because we are moving the week after his party!
Since Wesley loves Lightening McQueen and Mater we decided to have a Cars party.
And since the second movie is currently in the theaters it made finding Cars themed accessories so easy (bonus!!)!

Even though Target had some cute fill in the blank Cars invitations I opted to make my own invitations instead.
There's just something about personalized invitations that seem extra special.
Plus these were so easy to make I'm pretty sure they took me less time then it would have taken me to fill out the other kind of invites by hand.

I was able to buy some Cars themed Chipboard pieces in a pack from Michaels (in the scrapbooking section)

along with this piece of scrapbook paper which I used to spell out "Wes is 2".
Then all I had to do was type up the party details in Word, print, cut and glue everything to a piece of red card stock and voila....
a cute "master" invitation for my little man.

Then I took my "master" invitation down to Staples and had them make color copies of it for me to send out.
Easy peasy.

Family of 5 (family pics!)

A couple weeks after Madelyn was born we had a little photo shoot with our favorite photographer Ally Stepp.
Ally is so fun to work with and she always has a way of capturing magic.
Here's a look at some of the pictures.
Enjoy!

Friday Randoms

Just another busy summer week for the Sellars' family.
Here's a peek at it from the view of my Hipstamatic iPhone lens.
Enjoy!

We braved the opening day of the OC fair (with the thousands of other people) and had a blast!

I love this picture of all 3 kiddos.
It's so them.
Kenzie with her finger in her mouth, Wesley's funny face, Madelyn just hanging out.
A perfect snapshot of every day life.

my husbands new favorite place...
The Container Store.
An organizer's dream land.

Look at my chunky little monkey.
Madelyn had her 2 month check up and is in the 75%.

Mackenzie went to her friend's princess party.

Wesley got his first black eye.
Good thing he likes his boo boo bag.

Kenzie went to the dentist...
AKA her new favorite place.
She asks to go back almost every day.

Kenzie keeping Maddie company in Wesley's crib :)
She's such a good big sister!
