Today is my hubby's birthday!

I know all of you probably think you are married to the best husband in the world

but it's not true

because I have him!

Just in case I'm not the only person behind the times...

Did you know,

Ruffles and Stuff is back?!

I'm so excited!

In case you are wondering,

"What is Ruffles and Stuff, where did they go and why do I care that they are back"

let me fill you in.

Ruffles and Stuff was/is one of my favorite blogs.

Disney, the girl behind Ruffles and Stuff,

thinks up the most creative projects, takes gorgeous pictures and has such a neat way of sharing her thoughts, ideas and glimpses into her life.

But around 6 months ago she took a little (indefinite) blogging vacation.

It was a sad day.

But now she's back!

(happy day!)

Not as regularly as she used to be, but back none the less.

I can't believe I didn't know about it!

Craft play dates

For the past month or so I have been having a weekly play date with a few of the mom's on our street.

It's been such a fun time for us moms to get to know each other better while our kids laugh and play and be crazy.

While most of our play dates usually just consist of "free play" or in other words,

a mass jumble of kids having a blast accompanied by total chaos,

we have had a few more structured "craft play dates".

Yesterday was a craft play date.

One of the mom's had a huge stash of felt so we decided to make finger puppets.

As the mom's were deciding what to make and how to glue together/assemble the puppets we noticed that our craft play dates for the kids usually end up being mommy crafting hour.

I guess that's what happens when you get a few crafty mommas together in a room.

We totally end up taking over the projects and making them entirely for our kids.

Now granted, most of our kids have the attention span of an ant and get distracted after gluing on one thing but still.

It's pretty funny.

Card from a girly girl

The other day we had a birthday party to go to.

A little boy birthday party.

So I had Mackenzie sit down to make a birthday card for her friend.

I explained that the party was for her good friend Matty

and I threw out some ideas of things he might like her to draw a picture of.

You know, boy things.

Trains, cars, planes, rockets, sharks, etc.

Instead, my little girly girl insisted her friend Matty would like this card instead.

Let me explain to you what she drew...

a red flower,

a purple princess crown with pink, red, purple and orange jewels

and since he was a boy she added a brown bush.

"because boys like brown bushes"

according to Mackenzie at least.

Lol.
