Most days I feel like a frumpy mommy.
It's been months since I straightened my hair.
Or wore heels.
I'm lucky if I get a shower
and end the day without sticky hand prints or spit up on my clothes.
So a week or so ago
I figured I get a couple accessories to spice up my daily attire
and look a little more put together.
If that's possible while wearing jeans and a t-shirt.
I went to Nordstroms and got a cute necklace.
The first day I wore it Mackenzie pulled on it while I was holding her
and it broke into a million pieces.
A couple days later I tried a different necklace.
same thing.
Then while I was at Michael's I found a bunch of awesome pendants
for $3.99 {I love a good deal}.
I bought one and made my own
kid proof necklace.

cute and sturdy 
I used a role of leather lace (string) that I had laying around the house. 
Just cut it to the length you want, string on a pendant and tie in a knot.Easy peasy.
Here's for looking a little less frumpy.
Mackenzie has been into accessories too lately.This day she was sporting an ultra cool pair of tongs.

I totally understand! I did the same thing and my son broke it the very first time I wore it! Grr! I will have to make some of these. The other thing I do is buy accessories from forever 21....they are so cheap I don't care too much about them getting broken. But still cute too :o)
Love the necklace! Totally going to michaels to pick up some awesome pendants like yours. It's good to know I can still wear jewelry with a little one around! I'd given up...

if you don't wear jewelry very often, perhaps wearing your pendants all the time for a while will be enough to cure mackenzie of breaking your jewelry. I wear necklaces all the time and I can't remember the last time my 2-yr-old DD broke one. I do know she did break a few here and there, but she's so used to me wearing necklaces that she barely notices them (and she knows she's not supposed to touch, it 'makes mommy sad' if she breaks it.)
Also, she actually has a few of her own that I've made her!
