What I Wore and a crazy storm

I've always suspected growing up in Southern California had made me a weather wimp.
I don't do well in cold weather or humidity and now I have something new to add to the list...
crazy lightening and thunder storms.

A couple nights ago we had the worst and most random, totally out of nowhere storm I have ever experienced.
Aaron and I were relaxing on the couch watching a movie.
I got up to get us some ice cream.
While I was {alone} in the kitchen peacefully scooping our ice cream
the whole house lit up and started shaking violently
while accompanied by the worst and loudest sound I had ever heard.
Car alarms were going off.
I was freaking out.
I totally thought Jesus was coming back or we were being bombed.
Seriously.
I was screaming for Aaron (who was in the other room).
He was totally laughing at me (which I didn't find funny).
Apparently what I thought was a bomb was some crazy thunder and lightening.
So crazy I didn't even know thunder and lightening were capable of that.
I told you I live in Southern California.
Storms like that are not normal.

After 2 more sessions of the craziness and tons of hail the storm was past us.
And we went back to our movie.

Here are some pictures of the hail.

I think this is the closest to snow we will ever see by our house

on top of the kids play house in the back yard

I grew up in the flatlands of Nebraska -- there's a thunderstorm season! Then I moved to So Cal for college and lived there 8 years...during which time I experienced a grand total of 1 thunderclap. That was plenty long enough to make a me a wimp too. Now we live on the top of a river bluff (which means closer to the sky!) and the thunder and lightening is crazy! Of course, I have to put on a brave face for the kids, but there are definitely times I think I'm going to die. Ha!

Girly, that storm would have scared me too. I don't know what's up with the weather. We had snow on Monday. How insane is that? I'm so ready for a real spring.

Anyway, your outfits are too cute.
