nice, neat, and organized.
full of perfectly folded fabric,
hung spools of ribbon
and jars of sorted goodies
But in reality my craft room {area} looks nothing like that.
Not even close.
No yellow chair.
No turquoise cutting counter.
And definitely not so neat and tidy.
So for all of my fellow organizationally challenged friends out there
below are a few clever ideas I recently came across over here.
A bath tote used to hold craft supplies
(love this idea for all the kiddos crayons, markers, glue, etc.)
A pill container to hold tiny crafting supplies
(I also use empty baby food jars for this)
An under the shelf wine and stemware rack
turned into functional craft storage
And to keep your unused bobbin thread from unraveling
wrap a tiny pony tail holder around it.
Genius!

Ooh, that is my dream craft/sewing room. It's so beautiful!
Thanks for the nifty organizing tips. My sewing stuff seems to have a life of it's own, so I might have to try some of these.
Oh my gosh! We have the same dream craft room! Heather Bailey! I posted about it here: http://dabblygabby.blogspot.com/2009/12/craft-supply-shopping-list.html.
NO WAY!!!!! I love the idea for the bobbins!!!! Genius!!! I will be doing that one immediately! Wish I had a special room dedicated instead of my master closet or the dining room table. Such a bummer, but I love to dream, so who knows what the future holds, right? :)
I LOVE your blog. Sadly, I can't think of ONE organizational tip that I might have, (except that I plan every single thing in life on 3x5 cards) which is why i love your blog! :)
Haha, I dream of a craft room like that too! Right now my fabric is in a narrow set of shelves and an under the bed box, but I have used a sweater organizer before. I liked using the sweater organizer because it was out of the way hanging in the closet (the room is multi-purposed) but I was still able to see everything I had.
I LOVE THAT CRAFT ROOM!! I would enjoy sitting in a room like that. My creativity might just flow easier. I am always looking for new organizing ideas and I appreciate the tips you shared. What I like to do is use empty crystal light containers and cover the outside with cute paper and put beads, markers (so my baby can't get into them) and things like that. I also look for cute old jars that I can fix up and make cute.
