Painted Rocks

The Lord has been speaking
to me
and to us
as a family.

Big things.
Scary things.
God things.

So we painted some rocks of remembrance
so we don't forget what God is calling us to do.

And when things get hard
or we start to lose focus
we can go back to the rocks
and be reminded of God's plan for our family.

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
Matthew 28:19-20

Trust in the LORD with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding.
Proverbs 3:5

"In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven."
Matthew 5:16

"Never will I leave you;
never will I forsake you."
Hebrews 13:5

The rocks were a family project.
I painted the front of the rocks
and my hubby wrote specific bible passages on the backs.
And Mackenzie painted some rocks of her own.

And just for fun we painted some....

dogs and doggie treats

bugs
{Mackenzie's favorite is the lady bug}

and a fish.

I linked to your blog from a wedding blog and just had to tell you how much I love this idea. One of our pastors encourages us to do this so we don't forget the lessons God has taught us.

Those are some gorgeous rocks! And with fabulous messages to boot. I must say that the fish rock and his little mouth had me cracking up though!

bar none- my fav is the fish! How cute! My father was in the air national guard and when I was a kid he would travel all over the world and bring me hoome rocks and sea shells from- well- all over the world. Some of the shapes from those rocks would be perfect for this...I actually have one that looks just like a potato. And talk about timing- my daughter just came home from preschool witha pet rock she painted and put eyes on yesterday

Wow...this post is adorable. Sometimes you need a visual reminder of the Lord's presence. I especially love the dogs and bug though :)
